Artist's Comments

As a rule of thumb, I don't really upload street work to dA for a number of reasons but felt this was worth sharing.

This is my entry to an 'on street battle' taking place at stencil revolution, with the theme for this round being, put bluntly, 'monsters'. There are lots of scoring categories for each entry that everyone votes on but I won't go into that. Anyway, I thought a bit of narrative throughout my pieces might give me an edge so that's what I did :)

As I type right now, I can still feel the stinging nettles around my elbow gently throbbing that stung me whilst I was spraying the last stand scene.

And if you can't tell, the text is digitally superimposed (not stenciled) and two of the pieces are stickers.

Thanks man, although I don't agree it's perfect, it's just simple and there is less to go wrong if it's simple.

Anyway, there's no such thing as perfect : D

Well it's many pieces, not one piece. It's interesting to think how people on the street will interpret it, not understanding the context or seeing it all in it's entirety or! if they're a very outgoing and obvservant person, not in my order. Let's hope they come up with their own :D

Sweet idea!
Is it in sequence in the street? so you can cet a feel for the story without the narrative?

No they're not in a spatial sequence, although I did briefly consider it but finding somewhere suitable was difficult. Like I said to someone above, I find it interesting to ponder how each person who sees it on the street will interpret the scenes. For me, art is where intention and perception meet : )

love the design and the story about it. those little monsters remind me somehow of those thingies called "Headcraps" that populated the game of Half-Life2. In that context the whole things works for me as well, but I'm just a gamer-nerd^^
great pieces

Go, I´m with you!
:iconthepopegfx:
Yeah, they are akin to headcrabs but I arrived to their design through a long design process; that sounds flashier than it is...just means I drew lots and lots, trying to create something that looked threatening but also the capacity to be humorous as well as to be small so I could present them in packs. Cheers.
